what did I see??

    Saw today in Las Vegas, two switch engines deadheading on a UP manifest. The lead UP unit was the 4541 and the trace shows it heading for Pocatello, ID. The switch engines were conrail blue, and the only markings that I could see were unit numbers - 1508 and 2008. They were brand new too. Any thoughts?

    You saw a GP15D and a GP20D. Read all about them below. They have been testing them all over the place. They were in CO for a long time.

    The 1508 was a demo on the Pacific Harbor Line in LA/LB ports til recently.

    Their tech specs sound great, but they sure look wierd .... :eek: :eek:

    Sorry, but I do not think a locomotive should look like a little shoe box with a great big bubble head on top .... it looks sorts like an alien from a 50's movie :rolleyes:
