I haven't been on here for a while so it's over due to show what I have been up to. I was at a Goodwill store and found a real nice glass top table. This is a National Geographic Home Collection display table and the price was good. It looked like a nice place to put a train, so I went to work.

First I measured and found what would fit. and built a small layout to fit. Biggest drawback is I only have 2 inches of clearance. So everything had to be short. The rail is all Atlas code 55. The big open area will be a farm when I can get the supplies. It is lit with LED lights on the sides made from a Christmas light set.

I have 2 of the cat-zilla creatures, that's why I also added the plexiglass to the top. I already knew they would be all over it.

Very nice. It was a glass top kitchen table that got me back into this hobby. Trains and glass top tables belong together. It's like peanut butter and jelly. And in both instances, if I buy one I can't afford the other. JK Things aren't quite that tough. I really do like that. :)

I would love to do this some day. Be a great place for my Athearn B&O passenger train.

Before the glass top table I started on my new layout as well. I got one 90* module done and got a good start on my yard module. This is also all Atlas code 55 rail with 12 gage main bus wire and feeders every few feet. They use Anderson power pole connectors and will go together in any direction I want. I still have quite a ways to go, but it is a start.

B&O n-scale is one of my main model railroading interests. So will be pleased to see your progress.

At least 'dog-zilla' won't be chasing the little train mice around trying to swat them!

    Great little table idea. Thanks.

My wife seems onboard with it now that it is almost done. She did roll her eyes a little when I got the table and told her what I wanted to do. But after seeing how it looks now she likes it. I showed pictures to my coworkers and they also like it. The pics don't do it justice though. It looks better in person.

I was surprised that it is also very quiet. I was worried the noise would interfere with the TV, but you can barely hear anything with the train running.

I'm heading to the big train store north of Baltimore today to pick up some supplies for the farm I'm planning.
