EMD SD45 I believe she retains her 20 cylinder engine, but has been derated to 3000HP. I can't tell the lineage on that one, because I can't see the road number, but they have one that's ex KCS in gray and another SD45 they have is an ex Southern Pacific unit. That appears to be neither of them. They used to have a couple more exSP 45s still in dark lark and scarlet, but they were sent east to the Buffalo and Pittsburgh in I think 2004/2005 timeframe.

Here's 3052 shot last October in Tigard yard.

She's an ExSP unit as evidence by the cutouts for the old SP light package.

Its #3053. I caught it two days ago at the shops. I've also seen that ex-KCS one. Is that owned or leased by PNWR?

    Owned.

Railpictures.net doesn't seem to have a picture of 3053 and Google isn't helping me. PNWR renumbered their SD45s from the 3600 series sometime in the last 6-7 years as well.

Poking around the internet, this site has some shots from the 2004/2005 timeframe with the old numbers and the Gray units that were sent east

Also, not useful for identifying the SD45s, but the old unofficial page here: http://members.trainorders.com/dan.sheets/ is useful for tracing some of the other units. A lot of the non-GP39-2s listed there are off roster now.

That page is not updated anymore, so it's info isn't current, but has some useful historical info.

Appreciate the resources.. Its too bad that unofficial fan page isn't updated anymore. I did search around for 3053 but couldn't find any sign of it out there. Click here for a close-up of the cab number. I would've grabbed more pictures too, but I got told to leave the yard. :(

And this is the ex-KCS unit you mentioned right?

Is this the only KCS unit PNWR owns?

Yeah I usually do, but that time I couldn't find anybody there. In which case I stay well away from the tracks.
