Looking into the entire cast list one could probably find a Canuckian somewhere in there. Plenty of them in Hollywood. Kinda like those pesky original Canadian cabs on ex-CN units that are popping up everywhere down your ways like mushrooms after a rainstorm.
Now that's one of the darndest contraptions I've ever seen, and I saw many just before and during WWII. Love the spare inner tube off the door handle.
It looks like somebody sewed together some old bed sheets and threw that over the top like a big bandanna... Buy ya gotta love those gas pumps!
Did they have a door handle on the drivers side? Was that formerly a sedan? A little before my time. But do remember the gas brands.
Before mine too, but... No, it was either a roadster or a pickup. And yes and no, it had two latch handles, both inside. You didn't have to worry about what to do when the windows were rolled up, because it's a roadster, not a cabriolet. It has no roll-up windows. The tube seems to be attached to the top framework. I'm glad he found a use for it, as holding up that sheet of swiss cheese isn't the most useful duty.
My dad had one. It was a roadster pickup. He was born in '07. I think it was late '20s and he and his wife took it from New Jersey to Ottawa Canada and back. Since the gas tank was high and gravity feed to the carb he said that on longer steep hills you had to back up them. I can't imagine that trip in that small front seat and what the roads were like then. I think his father-in-law was also in the vehicle going one of the ways. Sumner
A car dealer's dream! Low miles. This gem was gently driven to church on Sunday by a little old lady!
Wow, one is filling it up, one is getting the windows, and of course, checking the oil! Now we sit in the lines at Costco.....
They're more useful than I am. I'm only good for sitting here waiting to pounce on the first person to call that cool, revolutionary "Which way is it going?" Stude a damned Ford.
I didn't get those kinds of looks when I stopped at the Mobile station this morning. It's mid winter in Wisconsin and I was filling a gas can in the trailer behind my motorcycle.
Well, hood is up showing where the most obvious spotting feature, the famous nose cone would be. However the split windshield would make it a 48 or 49 model? And I think the nose cone came out in 1950?
