Hi Everyone, March 26th/2000. What Roads do I model? Well lets C Now. For me its C.N. (with a Taste of G.T.W./ C.V.) and some C.P./Soo line, but i also Model U.P. and B.N. (with a Good Taste of that G.N./N.P. Variety) I want my Modelling Both Ways so I guess I can't go wrong. Thanks, Andrew, Calgary. grandtrunkent@RRmail.com ------------------ Best Regards, Andrew, Calgay
I model the B&O from 1940 - 1965 mostly passenger right now, but collecting a lot of the Micro-Trains B&O rolling stock.
I model the SOUTHERN RAILWAY, L&N, and MONON. I have my own railway company THE INDIANA RAILWAY. Have several friends who are railroaders on the SOUTHERN("I SAID SOUTHERN RAILWAY BUD, NOT NORFOLK SOUTHERN!") pride still shows in these men. Mark The SOUTHERN RAILWAY Serves the South. ------------------
Long live the B&O!!!!I model all eras of the Mother of American railroading. At present I'm stuck in the seventies. Can't help but love that blue paint.
I model a bnch of roads in a variety of eras. Roads - B&O, C&O, WM, Chessie, D&H, NH, B&M, DT&I, AT&SF, SP, UP, GN, NP, CB&Q and one ACL switcher, road #666. Also, one BNSF -9, 'cuz it was a good price. I have steamers and GP9s as well as -9s running at the same time. In my RR world, nothing ever gets retired or sent to the scrap heap. That's the way I like it..... Bob in Medford, Ma.
My layout is an imaginary one but has inter changes with Canadian National and Canadian Pacific. The era is still up for grabs but will probably settle into the 50s http://members.xoom.com/Matthyro/index.html

This model railroading is supposed to be fun, we should each do what gives us pleasure ------------------ Alan www.ac-models.com http://Andersley.homestead.com http://galleryusarail_tehcaj.homestead.com http://eurogallery.homestead.com
I agree with others. No engines retired. My PRR layout gives the initials RR the name of 'Rainbow Railroad'. PRR -> Penn Central -> ConRail -> Norfolk Southern(CSX). I can lash up combinations of eras. Or I can call it PPCN? At least the kitbashing is easy, black to black. Even thought about putting the initials 'PRR' and 'NYC' on the ConRail diesels.....but decided that was a little too much. ...Eddie
BN, Soo, TC&W in the Twin Cities over 2 periods - 1975-1985 - pre-BN merger gear and older Soo 1985-1995 - 3rd gen BN units and rebuilds, and Milwaukee bandits and Candy Apple Red on the Soo. TC&W as a Soo spin-off and personal interest road. Add MNNR, C&NW, and RI to the equation ------------------ Gary A. Rose http://www.pnc.com.au/~audiosat/ - The Unofficial TC&W page N to the Nth degree!
Starting a Freelance layout based somewhere in the midwest (Minnesota flavor). I grew up and now live again in the Twin Cities and I like modeling the "local" roads. My time frame is modern with some carry over of old diesel & steam units (GN & NP only) Main roads are as follows BNSF (heavy BN) and some ATSF (BNSF is main road) UP is my second main road with trackage rights with BNSF. Of course this will allow some of the fallen flags for UP as well. Some CN, CP, Wisconsin Central Of course I am still planning the track plan and benchwork. I am just collecting rolling stock and locos right now.

Why the Twin Cities? Both the main roads I model are in the TC area, and the TC&W runs on the old Milwaukee Road line west into St Paul. The area provides a lot of other roads to include as well. Plus I like the TCs - been there twice so far. it's the best of all worlds for me!

I just moved back into the Twin Cites last fall (Born and raised here). Are you from the US originally? What drew your interest in US roads?
No, I,m not from the US - Aussie 110%. I first saw N when I was 9 years old and saved until I could buy the Bachmann set I saw in the hobby shop window - American outline, of course. Over the years I moved into and out of the modelling game and when I came back, I had begun working in the rail system here. I was drawn to modelling US roads probably because I couldn't go out and touch it, and my workplace is primarily commuter which I am not really interested in. Also, Australian N was in it's infancy here and I didn't possess the abilities I have now. Gary.
Hi, I've had to restart my N-Scale layout again since I've moved recently so I'm starting from scratch. I have lots of B&M,Budd RDC's, two RS-3's, and one B&M painted GP-40. I'm planning a freelance railroad based on the Cape Ann area. Mine is called the Enfield and Eastern and connects Enfield, a mill city to Eastport a seaport with a dock, passenger terminal, etc. I'm also planning a ficticous connection with the B&M proper (not Guilford) and with another ficticous shortline the Cape Ann Southern.
dont my user name say it all........ and royal blue you got issues man.....he he he ah yeah i do bnsf,up,and just recently cn
Are you doing CN by choice, or is it to do with the hole CN/BNSF merger thing?! Dane N. TAMR-TAMR2860@hotmail.com
Speaking for myself, I've always liked the "National", now I have an excuse to ad it to my BNSF/AOW trains. That is, of course, IF the merger goes through... ------------------ RAILROADING-TO-THE-MAX! Brent Tidaback
