I would really like to see an SW-1500 riding on Flexicoil trucks does anyone know a manfacturer that will listen
What would really be cool is a line of different steam locomotive parts. Things like different style cabs, boilers, pilots, smoke box covers, sand domes, steam domes etc. That way one could take a standard USRA engine and make it more railroad specific. ........Pipe dreams, I know.
If someone makes U25C's and U28C's I will get back into N Scale, as I have almost everything else NP used in N. These are the sore spots. Even Conrail had a bunch of the U25C's, and I am sure there are others that could use them. Atlas already has the trucks as used on their RSD4/5 locos. What's the big deal? I mean, these are the last popular locomotives not yet produced in N before they start moving to customized steamers like the NP W classes or A classes. Also what about some MOW equipment like powered rotaries with spinning blades. The German Z Scalers have enjoyed those for years. -Robert
HUH?! Those would be fighting words to a lot of modelers. RSD-15, F45, FP-45, GP40X, GP60M, GP60B, GP39-2, SD-39, U23, U28, U33, U36C, SF30C, DD35, to name a few, are ones we get requests for almost daily. But sadly we have never had a single customer ask us to lobby any manufacturer for the U25C.
How about: or, maybe: or even: this'd be nice for those wanting larger power: for Diseasels, these please:
Greggo, I'm with you on the I1sa. If the M1a/b goes over, I'm sure we'll see it from PCM... if not next, then after the Reading T1. I'd like to see a GP7 Phase II. The Pennsy had five of these, with dynamic brakes, for east slope passenger helpers. And once InterMountain gets their F7 Phase I's rolling out the door, I'm hoping they'll annouce FP7's... or perhaps a later F3 Phase III or Phase IV's. Can't get enough F units!
Hey Gregg, good choices. The idea of a Pennsy J-class makes my mouth water. I'd be happy with just a good H9 or H10. For diesels, I really really really want an SD38-2 lettered for B&LE and DM&IR Ray
The SW1500 is definitely an obviously missing switcher these days. Hard to guess what any manufacturer might have in future plans. Or what they'd be willing to consider. There's no sense in approaching a company that doesn't commit to the best of quality. Which narrows it pretty much to Atlas, Kato, or Life-Like. There are many models that seem to be missing from production lines these days. A huge gap exists in GE U boats. And what about a later phase EMD GP9? Boxcab E50
Hey, How about the new PL42AC with the new bi-levels from Bombardier. In NJT colors,of course !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GG-1's would be nice. [ April 04, 2006, 06:37 PM: Message edited by: SecretWeapon ]
The gaps are easy to see: Heavyweight passenger car, both in clerestory, AC equipped clerestory and Harriman rounded roof designs. With the demise of Rivarossi, you would have the business all to yourself. American prototype single track truss bridge. One was made in brass, it goes for over $600 IF you can find one!
I'd like to see some GE Super-7s used by the Mononghela RR in the late '80s. An awesome body with Blomberg trucks. I think Atlas did a B23-7...which is similar. Cam
Well a nice Heavy Mountain, not the light version Bmann has out, and anything in steam with a Belpaire firebox but please not another Pacific. Heavyweight cars with AC ductwork on the roofs.
I'd like to see an MP36, GEVOs and SD70ACe made. Also, an C40-8W done with a higher quality than the Bachmann one. Santa Fe Hi-level coaches also need to be made.
I'm working on it, I'm working on it. I am cleaning up an old resin casting of one that I have and plan on making an RTV mold to cast some more. With four of them and all the other ATSF cars I have I can then put together the San Francisco Chief. The casting I have is the one on the left here.
Hmm... F45's are coming from grant-sar... That leaves C415, C636, SDP40/45, F9, and always more later-production SD40-2's. Steam: Heavy mountains, western-prototype 2-8-8-2's, a new Big Boy, a GOOD running Northern-type. Other: Verta-pac, heavyweight varnish, TEMPO cars (Ski Train, Canadian roads), autoracks with sides only, not fully enclosed; a correct Empire Builder and North Coast Limited trainset--Kato, you listening?
Only on the subject of diesels... What about the C430? Or, similarly the SDP35? Atlas did them in HO and O a while back. Not really - the radiator wings are very different. It really looks more like a B40-8 to me. Anyway, yes, both the B30-S7s you mentioned and C30-S7s would be good. Baldwin DR-12-8-3000, aka Centipede. Not very many made, but they were used by the Pennsy in the transition era, so there would be a market. But really, diesels are better covered than a lot of other fields. More plastic steam is needed, but I'm not sure what.
