I have some great Concor and Model Power passenger car sets, but they have horrible wheel wobble . I suspect that it is a poor pin setting between the metal axle and the plastic truck. Can this be fixed, or do the wheelsets need to be replaced? If I replace them, are there ALL metal trucks available?? Thanks for the help, and Happy Modeling!!

    John,
Have you removed the wheelsets and tried some others? If it is indeed the wheelset(s) then I would just replace them with MT wheelsets. If it appears to be a truck problem then I'd say replace with MT trucks, if possable. I don't know of any mfr. making metal trucks in N scale.

I don't think there are any all metal trucks in N scale, not sure if NWSL makes them or not, they do make metal wheels though.

Standard RX for the Concor passenger cars are to discard the concor wheelsset and replace with Intermountain 36" wheelsets. These are prototypical for passenger cars. These are plastic wheelsets. If you want metal IM also makes meetal wheelsets but I don't use them so I don't know if they would fit the trucks. Also if you use the 36" wheelsets your couplers will be off. not so bad if all the passenger cars have them as they will all be off the same amount but there will be a height difference between the fist car and the engine so you will have to address that area. The Concor cars that I have changed over roll just as good as Kato ones. Now Model power I do not know. You will have to measure the wheelsets from tip to tip to see if they match.

    Hi John,
Atlas makes 36" metal wheelsets as well as 33". IM metal wheels are 33" and heavier than the Atlas. [IMG]
