I saw an NS intermodal on the way to work this morning, and it had a bunch of Orange Schnieder 53' containers (both ribbed and smooth side). How long has Schnieder had containers? I don't think I recall seeing them on a train before....
I think they're relatively new. (like, less than a year old for sure) Check out the modelintermodal group on Yahoo as there was discussion about them when they first hit the rails I believe.
Yes, these are quite new, probably about a year or so. I think they look pretty sharp. Being in Wisconsin, I saw of lot of them when they were brand new, and they were so shiny I had to look away when passing them on the highway. Too new for our era, Dave!
