Related to my prior post: If you have a nice running, say Bach RS3 or other, but here and there it just will not budge and you're pretty sure it's mechanically and electronically fine, pick it up and turn it upside down. Looking real close see if a spike or small nail isn't sticking out of the speaker grill. The speaker magnet sucks up the loose ones from between the ties and in turn get hung up on a tie when rolling....M

I am in steam since childhood in the 50s. And I hold it at my highest 'esteam' ! Favs are NYC J3a Hudson and C&O y6b mallet. I came to like Alco RS 1, 2 ,3, diesel I think due to they looking sort of like the silhouette of a steam loco. I own 4 HO steam and 1 RS3. I am going to today tell the story of how I, just an hour ago (!!!) ran 1:1 scale, MUed with a second, GenSet locos in a yard in Los Angeles !! Look for my post. God's honest truth !!! Ironic huh !
