Hello, I just ran across this set of Southern F-7 A, B, B, A. Units and bought them got a good price but they still sound like a coffee grinder! but run pretty well! these had the tuxedo color Scheme! All units came with a different road number and will work good with me southern freight cars!

Very nice consist and agreed, would look great pulling a Southern freight mix. Would also be a nice re-release for MTL to do, but I wonder if that little recent effort of their's hasn't fallen by the wayside in favor of the Robot Christmas Train ---- ohhhhhhh, but I digress:mad:

I upgraded one of my F7s to the tjdreams / Tramfabriek 7mm motor upgrade and the Don Fedjur wheel wipers. The combo makes for a very nice running locomotive that is no longer a coffee grinder. Without the wipers, the 7mm motor was very easy to stall with any loss of power. With a stock engine you can see how much that front lightbulb flickers. With the wipers there is no headlight flicker and the engine just keeps going nice and quiet.

I just got in a bag of horns to replace one that disappeared into the carpet from one of my WP F7s. Nice that MTL has the parts. I said I need 1 horn. They sent 1 bag of 20. So the next goal is to upgrade my WP F7s.

The carpet disappearance is related to a phenomenon known as "part launching". The offending part has entered a time displacement vortex and will often reappear in three to six months. Fyi.

That explains many things I have observed. In fact I was clipping apart some 3D printed truck sideframes when one of them literally changed physical states from solid, thru liquid, gas, and finally a dimming plasma right before my disbelieving eyes! It happened so fast and silently and so far has never reappeared, but I am hopeful it materializes at some future time as other such observations in the past have. :D

speaking of F-7 MTL I came across a set of 11 cars and F-7 Engine and caboose on E-bay! I took the chance and bought all for a good price! I just got them and all in new condition! F-7 even run well but like Robert said still has that coffee grinder sound! THese were the nose art set I think was pretty cool! so I think there are about the Same with MTL!
