am going to be up in the area of WHite River Juntcion, Vermont at the end of the month, was wondering where or if there are any good train watching spots or even hobby shops? Thanks....
I would expect the only place you might see a train would be at the station and that would be NEC or ATK. The B&M engine house at West Lebanon is closed and I doubt if anything is running north to Wells River. I wouls check in at Bellows Falls on the way up for the VT RR.
Gil, glad to see you posting. Grandfunk, listen to Gil, he really knows the area that you are interested in.
If you ask on Nerail, you will probably get a better reply with the traffic and times. Not a lot in WRJ anymore.
rail watching White River has some trains going through every day but the best bet would be either rutland or bellows falls. Those are the three major rail watching spots i can think of from vermont. The Chester depot has a shop next door the sells some model trains but to find a good model train shop check model railroader or classic toy train ect.
