I have a few photos that I took this week... it makes you wonder: Whose RR were they taken on, anyway? First one: Harold
I really like this lashup: the trailing up is a NS SD70 that has been repainted into the new "Horsehead" scheme. Harold
Here's the back half of that lashup: I think this unit may hay just been rushed out of the paintshop before it was done :0 Harold
I'll go out on a lamb and say this is Norfolk Southern stuff, and some of those locomtoives are in a locomotive transfer from point A to point B.
Interesting shots. Here on the BNSF in Sherman, the locomotives may have Santa Fe blue & yellow, BN green, or BNSF "Heritage 1" colors, but if they're SD40-2s, most likely they're lettered for FURX or CEFX. DGNO uses an ex-UP and ex-CNW SD40-2 consist for their Royse City rock trains- both diesels are in their original paint jobs, but with CEFX lettering. Welcome to railfanning in the 21st century!
Harold, NICE WORK! Was that taken on CSX lines as leased units? Something about thiose pictures seem to make me think that they are leased units by the railroads on them to another railroad an seemingly enough, CSX has been doing alot of leasing, BUT, I can't vouch for that anylonger I'm no longer in CSX land in Pennsylvania! But they were doing alot of leasing the last time I knew....
All of the pictures are on CSX lines... in fact, as Brian pointed out, ex- SAL signals give them away. The lashup with the CSX unit on the point (in Aberdeen) has 3 CSX units leading 4 units that belong to a short line: Aberdeen Carolina & Western. I believe CSX was delivering the train to them and don't know where the units were cut in or why. I will try to post a few more pictures as well... In the same outing, I also caught ex-BNSF pumpkins (now HLCX) and an ex-UP unit (now CEFX). I enjoy colorful trains Harold
