Was running my 1 week old Bach HO 2-8-0..It was rounding same curve it had lots of times now (about 25" Rad.). This time it stopped dead on curve..Thought it was derailed but no room in this ravine to right it..Picked it up, rerailed it but chuffs started with no driver movement. Picked it up again and found either the drivers were jammed; no slack at all; or rods/side action jammed somehow..I tugged on one axle where its wheel was up against frame..Wheel popped loose, slack was back in the action.. I put it on rails and was OK...Does this loco have a history of this occuring ?

Some Bachmann locos have gear troubles. Usually splitting. This is a possibility to check.

If it was chuffing with no movement, it's on auto chuff. If lead driver was locked, sometimes the crankpin hits the crosshead guides. Bent crosshead guides, loose pin.
    Which driver?

Thanks..Been OK since and has rolled through same curve fine..will get a closer look at the action..Maybe get it upside down first...switch on analog CV and use old MRC powerpack..Get what I've been cradling my locos in ...A 'V' shaped hand exercizer with soft foam padded handles from 99cent store..Keep forgeting to get a 2nd one for tender...
