Hi gang. I am an avid N scaler and am embarking on a project because of the amount of interest I have recieved over the past couple months. I am wanting to know, is a dead center wide vision cupola, like the AT&SF had available in HO scale? For some reason I think I have seen them before, but dont know the mfg. I know that Overland did a version, but I am not interested in purchasing a brass model. Even if it is Tyco, or B-mann I am okay with that, but would prefer Athearn or Atlas. Thanks for any help on this. Ryan
Athearn's Model Numbers: HO RTR Wide Vision Caboose, SF #999776 HO RTR Wide Vision Caboose, SF #999822 HO RTR Wide Vision Caboose, SF #999818 That's all I could Find. The above models are in ATSF Red with the Yellow Herald.
It really doesn't matter what the Rd is. I was just referencing ATSF because the model I need is based on a ATSF prototype. I would prefer an undec but really doesn't matter. I just want to know if there is a dead center cupola version of a wide vision caboose available in HO scale.
Rapido makes an HO center cupoloa caboose wide vision - since you asked. http://www.rapidotrains.com/cab1.html
Many manufacturers have done them over the years, they are plentiful at train shows/swap meets. Don't know if you're interested in low-end, but AHM/Life-Like/Bachmann have all produced a version of it.
Don't know about N Scale but none of the HO Santa Fe wide vision waycar models come w/ centered cupolas - past or present.
