I am switching gears a bit and working on another project while I continue other product development. About six months ago I started work on a Raspberry Pi based WIFI servo turnout control server. Development was VERY slow. I figured it was because of my lousy programming skills and while that IS true, it also had to do with some very difficult hurdles of direct I/O access on the RPi when you are trying to control them outside of the Python/Internal ecosystem of the Pi. I switched up and started development on an ESP32 and you'll see that six months of really getting nowhere was eclipsed by two long nights in a Chicago hotel (I'm here for training with my employer Motorola Solutions).
