The Wiking Hanomag wheel loader was released in late August, and I was curious to see how it looked next to the MZZ version of a similar wheel loader, which was was released in the 1980s. The photo below shows the Wiking wheel loader in blue, the MZZ wheel loader, a GHQ Cat IT 18F wheel loader, and a River Point Station Ford F-350 service truck The Wiking model has a clear plastic front and back windows that support the canopy. However, while the posts are molded into the clear plastic, they really should be painted to avoid the "floating in air" look of the canopy. Hanomag produced the prototype for this loader in the mid 1960s, but it does not appear these wheel loaders were ever officially imported for use in North America. However, Hanomag has been a subsidiary of Komatsu since 2002, and Komatsu wheel loaders are definitely in use in North America! Carter
Wiking has announced a yellow Hanomag B11 for February. https://www.wiking.de/en/shop/hanomag-radlader-maisgelb.html No cab or canopy, so this would be a "pre-OSHA" machine manufactured before ROPS were required. Carter
