The new Winchester Rail Yard just north of Roseburg will be officially dedicated this afternoon.
The 6 million dollar rail yard has been completed and today officials from RailAmerica, CORP, the City of Roseburg, shippers and local legislators will attend the ribbon cutting ceremony.
A special passenger train is in town and ready for the dedication.
For today’s dedication CORP has brought in a Union Pacific Dome Car, number 7001 “Columbine”.
The VIP’s will board at about 1:15 this afternoon near CORP’s downtown offices.
The passenger train special will be pulled by a freshly painted GP-20 locomotive, number 2005 and leave at about 1:45. The dedication ceremony will start promptly at 3PM.

To Clarify for those not in the loop, this is not a GP-20.

its a GP-20D. early 2000s EMD product with a Cat EPA T2 engine in it. Looks kinda like a Genset, but it isn't one.

They painted in the old Railtex colors Grey and Red. I'm waiting for pictures to show up on the web.
Apparently CORP is not going to Rail America colors. I don't know why.

Sounds like the same lashup they used when we rode up to the opening of tunnel 13 a few years ago. :)
