I have read and know pretty much that Atlas turnouts are DCC friendly (HO Scale) I plan to use hand-throws from Caboose Industries on all turnouts. My question is: Will I run into any difficulty with my Shinorah code 100 double crossover? I have a NCE System, with a Tony's Train Exchange Power Shield for Reverse Curves and Turntables. Yeah, I have an Atlas turntable too. I am running two bus lines at 12AWG with 18AWG solid wire drops. For the turntable I was thinking of a DPDT switch or a maybe a DPST (on/off) switch. Anyway, is there any special consideration I should use on the double crossover? I really don't want to power route my turnouts.

Also any other remarks, how have other people dealt with turntables. I do have it isolated. BTW my power supply is also a Tony's Train exchange mounted in a Utility box. Any comments thoughts would be welcome. You can email direct at ajy6b@hotmail.com

    Thanks

The first thing to do is remove the wipers that are located under the throw bar. These cause a momentary short everytime the turnout is thrown. I didn't do this when I converted over from DC to DCC and everytime I would throw a turnout my trains would momentarily stop.

You also might want to (not required) modify the switches so that each closure rail is isolated from the other closure rail and both rails are isolated from the frog. You might want to check out a past issue of Model Railroader (recent article) or go to http://www.wiringfordcc.com to see how to do this.
