I was fortunate enough to catch a WC unit on the lead of an NS train ( #351) out of Raleigh today:

I have caught WC units on NS trains several times in the past, but this is the first time I have caught one leading!

As I said in the other thread, I've almost never seen a WC unit that wasn't a 45, so It's extra interesting to me.

There is a batch of surplus WC power on short-term lease to Norfolk Southern. I do not know for sure the numbers included or the specifics of the deal. They are either leased directly to Norfolk Southern from Canadian National or returned by CN to their lessor and then leased to NS.

I guess that explains why I have seen so many WC units on NS...

Anyone have an update on this? I'm thinking the latter is most likely?
