Well guys it's that time of the week to show what you have been up too this weekend.

Here are my contributions for this weekend.

    1. The shells have now been stripped for my MKT project.
(just a note the shell in the middle is the Atlas shell purchased recently)

    2. Shots of Jason's SD40's and his tank car

    3. This last pic shows how my fallen flag roster is growing with MOPAC, MKT and SP, the lone UP unit is also on the list of projects for a repaint.

I'm hoping today to paint the black components for the MKT project if I do I will post some pics later.

Here is a shot of one of the San Antonio NTRAK modules that was set up at a train show in Flatonia, Texas in October. There was a bright window behind the layout that cast some blue optic refections on my film but other than that it looks OK. Yes that is a bear standing next to the cave on the left. :D Very unusual for Central Texas which the module does a very good job of depicting.

This was an HO modular layout at the same show. This is a scratch built replica of the Cristal City, Texas MoPac depot

Continuing my posts of images I've never posted on Trainboard, here's the main town on the old layout. A through train pounds through Upper DeWitt, while an 0-4-0 hurries to clear the track through Middle DeWitt. At the bottom is Lower DeWitt, on the DeWitt River, the last navigable port before Bridges Gorge. I never built ships for it, as the aisle was far too narrow.

I know many of you in N scale have seen these images before on another forum, but I repost for those who might not have seen them.

Here's my second for the night, one of my all-time favorites:

The west end of Bridges Gorge was a great place for railfanning.

I've always wondered why editors didn't like this one.

I finally got some time to finish the well car I have been working on converting into a smaller car. On board are a couple of new reefer containers made also from undecorated models.

This is what the prototype looks like. Photographed by my wife as we were driving, oddly enough, past Red Rock, AZ on Thanksgiving Day.

    Mike,

sure! I'll do it. I've started to cover with newspaper (paper) the cage wire and the new mountain sub is becoming better and better. I plan to add a snowshed (concrete snowshed like the one you can find on Marias Pass!) on the uppermost part of the climb.

    Keep in touch.

By the time you read this, likely Dave's layout is in advanced stages of dismantling. It was truly a gem, and I and many of us in Northern California will miss Dave. We all look forward to future posting from him from his new home in Oklahoma.

    Enjoy!

    John,

Great pics and looks like a great layout, it must be heartbreaking to have to dismantle it.
