July took longer to go by then needed. Several things to update but one non-train related event that has to take priority first:

Somehow my g/f survived a round with kidney cancer. It took a few months to get the surgery lined up. They used some newer cancer treatments to prevent it from spreading past her left kidney, and after reviewing the situation, it was decided that rather then run the risk of taking the malignant cells, removing it would be best. She's doing fine and back home. I got to ride Empire Builder to Minnesota for this.

Now onto train related news. Let's welcome to the roster my 100th Anniversary Pennsy Boxcar. Those who know, know that my family's heritage was the Pennsy. This boxcar is an aristocraft's 40 foot steel boxcar. Made in 2007, it's lowered prototypically. underneath it's pre-drilled for kadee body mounts. Sort of. Yes there's screw holes, but they are extruding plastic tubes. A Simple cut with a dremel or hobby knife will take them off. The quality of the graphics are very crisp. The main drawback is the boxcar has plastic wheels/non roller bearing trucks. The roof walkways are see through which is a good detail part. Overall a nice boxcar.

Next let's turn focus towards Wolfcreek Station. It's coming along nicely. All trim pieces are painted D&RGW Building Brown and glued onto their corresponding walls (with the exception of walls that need the door in first). Doors and all other green trim, including the windows which are stock brown, will be painted Vermont Green. Finally the roof stays as it is. The kit is coming along nicely. Photographs once everything's finished.

Train Show this month. Back to deal snooping. I spent most of my model train budget on fixing up my gaming computer. Oh well, I made a smart investment with my money into utility Company Com-Ed. Every month they cut me a 300 dollar check. I have returnable income specifically for use in wasting it. Yes I said wasting it. I'm weird like that.

    Post show updates as always.

Right now my camera isn't working and I misplaced my Xbox 360 Vision Cam that I was hooking up to the computer and using. I can, however, give you the image off the retailer's website. This image belongs to the man who owns it, Robby:

Hopefully everything will be ok with your girlfriend. I'm glad to see you are moving along with your train plans. It's always smart to invest some money and use the income from that.

A Five dollar track bumper. Yeah I said it. an LGB Non-Lit Track Bumper. That's what I picked up. Works good on the second track siding. It needs some tan paint on the wood and gloss black paint on the coal load. Going to fabricate a styrene cover to cover the hole where you would add the light and the wires.

The show was...a bit slow. Couldn't find anything that was on the list. Oh sure I found my HO Scale Walther's CB&Q Coach....but it was the diner not the sleeper. USA Trains PA/B Santa Fe unit, Observation Car, Coach and PA Rio Grande Units. No price, no seller. I really wanted the observation car too. Was going to have it painted in Big Sky Blue for Great Northern. The rainbow Passenger train is going to be a G-Scale and HO Scale project.

The money I didn't spend went towards my Corsair Power Supply for the gaming computer. That's it for the show, Station will be finished this month and I'm going to turn my Phone Booths into wall mounted ones.

So far all that's planned this month is the Track bumper and the station. Still hunting for the switch tower for cheap.

    Til the next update.
