    We're Back Baby!! Wolfcreek 2.0!
Sorry about that. I couldn't resist playing with the font size. Yes. We're back! And my Diner has become the first to receive it's Oxide Red Paint. The Luggage shack is built too! Styrene work on it will begin later. The Cab Shades and Skate Antenna are here but having problems painting them. Spray paint wasn't the answer so I must get some Polyscale Railroad Paint Engine Black to paint them.

First up, The Luggage Shack and Layout Views:

And now, Receiving MOW Number X1501, My Heavyweight Diner and her painted parts:

I'm not going to paint the interior other then just inside the Vestibule because it really isn't that important to me. Most people won't be up close and looking inside and what counts to me is the White BN Logo and MOW Markings that will be going on soon.

Here's the paint that I was using. It says Oxide Red, but it's really Special Oxide Red:

Ever since I used their Burlington Northern Green on my FB-1 I've been in love with this paint. It's water based and I didn't realize I shouldn't shake it, but stir it only. Oh and as for my heavyweight, Yes I am painting it with the windows in place. It's good practice for me to learn to keep my hand steady and not rush through a paint job. I'm getting pretty good at it too. The roof is going to be painted in Polly Scale's MOW Gray. This sunday is the trainshow at The Great Midwest Train Show. More updates after this sunday!

EDIT: I also had the chance to participate in my friend's open house. He has a garden railway on 2 acres of property up near Utica, IL. I didn't bring my camera as I was too excited to be running my small frieght on his layout. Well his whole reason was to unvail a train he's been aquiring for nearly 10 years. Going all the way back to the original Aristocraft heavyweights. Here's what he ran:

    • USA Trains Rio Grande ALCO PA-1
    • USA Trains Rio Grande ALCO PB-1
    • USA Trains Rio Grande ALCO PB-1
    • AristoCraft Rio Grande Boxcar (Modified With Diaphragm Walkways; Generator Car)
    • AristoCraft Rio Grande Boxcar (Modified With Diaphragm Walkways; Generator Car)
    • AristoCraft Rio Grande 3-Axle Truck Heavyweight RPO Car
    • AristoCraft Rio Grande 3-Axle Truck Heavyweight Baggage Car
    • AristoCraft Rio Grande 2-Axle Truck Heavyweight Combine Car
    • AristoCraft Rio Grande 2-Axle Truck Heavweight Coach
    • AristoCraft Rio Grande Smoothside Coach
    • USA Trains Rio Grande Corrugated Aluminum Coach #1
    • USA Trains Rio Grande Corrugated Aluminum Coach #2
    • USA Trains Rio Grande Corrugated Aluminum Diner
    • AristoCraft Rio Grande 2-Axle Heavyweight Diner
    • AristoCraft Rio Grande 2-Axle Pullman Sleeper Car
    • USA Trains Rio Grande Corrugated Aluminum Sleeper Car #1
    • USA Trains Rio Grande Corrugated Aluminum Sleeper Car #2
    • USA Trains Rio Grande Corrugated Aluminum Vista Dome Car #1
    • USA Trains Rio Grande Corrugated Aluminum Vista Dome Car #2
    • AristoCraft Rio Grande 2-Axle Heavyweight Observation Car
I was extremely impressed with this set up. With the snow buildup on his layout it was absolutely beautiful. Next time I go out there, I'm going to photograph this. EMDTrainman would love this setup~

DragonFyreGT, I'm glad you got your trains back up and running. Your pictures of the train looks good. I'm pretty impressed with your friends consist, those USA PA units are more than powerful enough to pull that heavy consist. Let your friend know he can convert those Aristocraft two axle passenger cars back over to 3 axle trucks very easily, but reliabilty sorta goes down.

Another Great Midwest Train Show has come and gone. Most of the dealers I see were not there. That's alright, L&B Model Trains was as usual. They found my Tender!!!! It was attached to another Stainz locomotive and the seller wouldn't sell them apart. Close but no smokestack. None of the Aristocraft parts ordered at the show in December have arrived yet. So I started looking around for HO Track for my GN15 mining setup. I found something that will help me out gratefully.

A While back my friend overseas had custom decals printed out in BN for my FB-1. They were the type that required liquid to adhere. Well I saw at the show a set of Woodland Scenic BN/CBQ Boxcar Decals. White to boot. The BN Logo and the "Burlington Northern" Text was large enough to match what Aristocraft used themselves. Dry Transfer to boot aswell. You lay them on, burnish them off, use the backing paper to burnish a second time to hold in place. I'll have photographs posted tomorrow as during my lunch break at work, I plan to do it. I'm going to go looking for Woodland Scenic's numbers next. Microscale makes Diesel Manufacturer's decals too so I can paint over my FB-1's black builder plates in green and re-decal with white ones. My plan is to make sure no one ever knows that unit was a Black Widow FB-1 unless I tell them.

Also I found another Crayola Reefer. It sold for 700.
