Tragic. Wheelchair--I wonder if a wheel got stuck somehow while she made her way across, and couldn't get out?

Wow, very tragic. I know for the longest time here in Western Washington, and all of UP's crossings in the south Seattle area, were horrible to the point people were almost stopping to cross the tracks!! They had horrible gaps between the rails and asphalt and the center rubber pieces, almost like a reverse speed bump. I can only imagine someone in a wheelchair getting stuck in the rutt where the rail is.

Sad, but is this quiet zone a left coast thing? I have trains blowing anytime they want to go through my town, no matter if it's 3am or 4pm. duh, No gates or what?

Is the side walk a city or railroad thing....?

There are quiet zones everywhere in the USA. Wherever people whine loudly enough.
