My son, Ben, is looking for an HO wooden trestle kit. Does anyone know where he might be able to mail order one? Thanks for any info you can provide.

Mike - There are a lot of internet train shops out there - look at the top of the screen for one! Here's what I would recommend - go to www.walthers.com to see what's available, then shop around for the best price.

You didn't say, but how old is Ben and how much do you plan to help him? Wooden trestle kits can get pretty tough - they usually start out as just a pile of sticks - and can get pretty boring to build.

You could also check with the site sponsers.

Finally, if you are interested in building trestles and basically everything else, then I highly recommend taking a long look at the High Templar's website at: Paul's Main Page

Within there you will find this section: "Making a wooden trestle." That should give you some ideas on the construction.

Enjoy, hope to see pics ;)

Midwest Products has a series of wooden bridge kits available through your local hobby store. #3051 is the Canyon City Trestle, which retails for $44.95, and includes a jig to aid in trestle assembly. It also includes a Trestle Buddy to help locate the trestle bents on your railroad. Seems like a good deal to me!

There's also the old standbys from Campbell: #751 216' Tall Timber Trestle, #304 110' Tall Curved Trestle, #301 50' Pile Trestle, and #303 70' Curved Trestle. Does this help?
