Well I have been busy this weekend, I moved enough dirt to fill a area 20 feet X 80 feet X 4 foot deep. This will be transformed into 300 feet of right-o-way, 2 sidings, 4 trestles, 1 tunnel, 1 grade up the side of a canyon, Did I mention Canyons, Mountain passes, and anything else I can get in .
Tiny, I thought that it was an earthquake I can only dream of such a space I'm really looking forward to see your pics when you make progress on changing this Mars landscape to a railroad scene of this planet Paul
Boy O Boy what a great event to be able to get started on something like that this time of year. Has anyone fitted LGB with DCC and or soundtraxx. I have several engines, but can not seem to find out anything about it. All my N scale are DCC and I thought possibly I coulg get a decoder for these engines. Any help is good. Thanks Carl
Must be nice to live both in a place with no SNOW ! and a place where you can have out side trains! I'm in G scale but if I had them out side I'd have to electrify the rails and weld them down to keep them from walking away! So my G scale is going in a 20'x13' room above my HO.
Tiny, This looks awesome. Its a lot more work than I have ambition to tackle, but it certainly puts my 10x25 loop of under construction garden railway to shame. I bowed to the inevitable of living in Houston and kept things on a single level running through a bed behind our new in-ground spa. I can drink a beer, soak in the spa, and watch the trains run. I even cheated and had the spa company build the bed for me as an add-on cost when they landscaped the spa for me.
I got a couple photos to update work on new addition The first photo show the same north end, looking south, at the top of this thread. The second shot shows the rocked up south end looking west. The last photo shows the whole south end.
Tiny is a guru when it comes to large scale railroading. Also, he loves to play in the dirt of Nevada.
