Use the track/wheel gauge/coupler height checking tool. Also might have the bolster pins too tight or something like that. I had always heard that the Peter Wright turnouts were more reliable than Marklins.

I've never looked to see if the rolling stock wheel sets are one piece or if they have the wheels set onto the axle. I could swear that I have found some rolling stock out of gauge, but maybe it was just some of my F7's. Now I'm scratching my head. Can anyone answer this?

I sent Adam Amick a message off forum about your problems with the Peter Wright turnouts and he replied on the Z_Scale yahoogroup. Not sure if that is helpful to you or not, but check it out.

Another option for turnouts might be the Small Scale Logistics Quick Kits that let you convert an Atlas Code 55 N scale turnout to Z scale. You would still have the issues of getting the right bonding agent though like you did with the Fast Tracks. He says they are supposed to go together in a half hour, but it took me about 5 hours to do one (I've never done anything like this or handlaying track before though).
