Hi Everybody! Just posting some pictures of my work in progress, building the first segment for my Westren Pacific layout, this is the West River Branch module, 40cm x 80cm, the frame is plywood to which I have flush installed 1'' blue foam board. The legs/understructure is IKEA Ivar. I have now carved the riverbed and streetbed into it, the hill is made also from blue foam, covered thinly with plaster. I made the initial ground painting with some acrylic paint, "Yellow Ochre". The layout is DC, I am using Heiiwolf SFR1000 single-cab control, which I have found to be very good! Here are the first pics: EDIT: can anyone help with the picture linking, what did I do wrong as they do not show up?
your pictures must already be posted on the internet to show. You can setup a Railimages account and upload the pictures there, or on your own web page somewhere. Once your pictures exist on the web, you link to them like this: an image address looks like this: http://www.trainboard.com/tbsmiles/148.gif and when that is placed between the , it will look like this in your post:
use this at the beginning (without the " quotes marks): "" that will insert the photo. below: this won't work, because i've used spaces between the "" marks [img] http://www.trainboard.com/grapevine/picture.php?albumid=272&pictureid=3416 without spaces it will work: dave f.
Yep, got it now, I had the images on Trainboard Album allready, but had to use the "BB" code in order to attach them here...
nice start on the module. WP will be a great choice, with California to Utah mountains and deserts. have fun. dave f.
And, unlike many other roads, the lack of older 6-axle (other than brass) and non-EMD power in Z isn't a problem. With F-units, GP7/9s and GP35s, you can actually make consists that look like typical WP.
The backdrop is a commercial one from JoWI although it is designed for N scale I think it fits pretty fine
