Guys, what is the best made (HO) Y6b ? This has always been my favorite articulated. There's something about them that attracts me more than the others. They have a low-slung look and the pilot is unique the way the steam pipes are and the way the smoke box is flat at the bottom where the pilot swivels(I think), etc. I like N&W and C&O east coast coal ..Sorry if this is an old subject, elsewere in forum..

IMHO, it's the PCM - best for me for detail / price / performance criteria & tradeoffs.

I've always liked N&W steam too. My steam roster was all brass when I modeled the N&W simply because there were no other options at the time (and I also like the detailing on brass.) My Y6b was a Key import and ran like a Swiss watch. I also had a Class A with coasting drive that was a Key. I saw somewhere that Precision Craft is doing a Y6b but I'm not sure when the release date will be.

PCM Y6b has been out for a little while now... but the way BLI and PCM are making their runs now, you almost have to pre-order if you want a guaranteed shot at getting one... short of grabbing one off ebay.

In any event, I absolutely love my PCM Y6b. Runs and sounds great. The detail is quite nice as well.
