My container train just got another 5 cars longer, with the CP release. Just need some more modern locos at a reasonable price!! I am seriously kicking around the idea of a SD70ACe out of brass. Need to purchase that Sherline mill first and fab a brass split frame.
I ordered 3 yesterday after work. I have 7 of the TTX and 7 of the BN, so my total will be at 17 when they ship. I have been looking for photo's so I can repaint some of the BN ones. I want to do them BNSF with the renumbering patch.
Oh, by the way Eric, did you know that AZL is releasing a plastic SD75 next summer? At the NTS they were talking $175-200 range, so that means $250 by the time we see them. There are supposed to be several variations to include all the SD70 lookalikes. What's the timeframe for your etched metal kits?
Robert, I heard AZL was doing a SD75, I can't wait! I'm about ready to purchase a half dozen of them. And the price will be about right, sure beats $400-500+ a piece. The etched kits are going to be coming very soon. The company I deal with is off this coming week, but I should get them in the following week. I had a great idea, and already forwarded it on. I love the Alan Curtis spine car kits in N scale, wouldn't it be just perfect if he scaled them down to Z? I know I would pick up at least 8 to 10, 5-unit sets. If he doesn't want to do them, I might try my hand at some casting. They shouldn't be too difficult, and MTL roller bearings should fit nicely on them. All kinds of ideas, just not enough time to put into all of them....
