    Watco painted one of their locomotives to honor Pittsburg State University, a small school in eastern Kansas.

    I wonder what was the inspiration? Maybe one of the top brass at Watco is an alum? Or because it is their headquarters town?

    Here is the link to a story in the Cowcatcher Magazine about the repainted GP38.

    It's also interesting to know that Watco painted an SD40-2 to honor the Cherryvale (KS) High School football team. It is again notable to point out that Cherryvale is home to Watco.
