    Hey all,

In my never ending quest to start new projects and not finish them, I've been looking for sources of brass details for some structures I want to do in the future. I have a Micro-mark photo etcher and that works great for most things, but for fine details, sometimes it's costly to get the right negs done to do it right. Ship models are great sources for detail parts, many done in 1/200 and 1/250 scales. Along with those are brass detail sets you can buy from a couple of sources. I've attached a link to the Gold Medal Model site and the detail set for the Uss Olympia in 1/240 scale...pretty darn close to 1/220.

With this set you have all sorts of stuff for industrial applications...ladders, stairways, railing etc... Price for this set is $42.00 and a bargan in my book. Also if you want to scratch build bridges their set 160-63 is a fret of X bracing 18" in N scale, which works out perfect for regular width Z scale bracing on Iron structures.
