I'm trying to use some of these for bodymounting projects in N Scale, I have noticed that the cars are coming uncoupled randomly or moreso when I shove back like to do a drop and than move forward again... The track is straight and level, just few test pieces of Atlas C55 flex.
Does the coupler center after you push it off center. I usually have that problem when the coupler are not installed correctly or needs some grease em.
Not completely, tried to unscrew it a little but then the coupler would swing. Will try the grease'em. The cars I noticed if I kept them kind of angled on the track like a saw blade then the cars didn't uncouple... but if they were moved in any slight way they came undone again. Slack stretched seemed to help a tiny. xuroned the trip pin if that would make any difference.
one thing I would try before cutting the pin, super glue the coupler box. I think the coupler box hole is not drill correctly, and you have to tighten too much. Just make sure you dont let any suoer glue get inside of the coupler box.
Their couplers used to have to be 'de-flashed inside the 'claw'. Not sure aboout the assembled ones. did you use a coupler height gauge to make sure each is at the right height? Did you tap the holes or factory tapped into the floor ? Angle of screw ? Just thinking . . . .
