used by the "Colorado State Lumber". Custom build for Heribert Baier. If somebody starts now searching for prototype photos he's waisting his time... It's a loco like it was used for logging purposes all over the US and Canada, in this case in the forrests of the Rocky Mountains. Had a hard time with severe winters and some rainy summers, was not any good for the wooden superstructure and the steel.... I used a 5-pole BR89 for the chassis, loco has bi-directional LED lights from "Gerd Electronics", some mods in comparison to the original Zthek kit, custom paint job incl. declas and of course weathering.
I am not usually a fan of lumber or logging trains, but that is one cool little critter. How does it run?
This is a nice model. I love some of these improvised and hacked together things they'd run out in the woods. Please share with logging group (in my sig) if you would be willing! Adam
Hi Gerd, You are an artist everybody know it, great !!! I have one of this still waiting for my soldering iron. Just I am surprised by the name that Heribert choosed, as I know lumber companies was never owened by states, or are I wrong ?
Just a phantasie name, no intention to be real or within a system... Decals are made, like all of my decals, on an ALPS MD-1000 and applied with Mr. Mark Setter and Mr. Mark Softener
