Thought I would have a little fun and set up a little truck stop scene with most of the trucks that I have.
Modeling the railroad killers! Would like to see some Amish buggies in N scale, but looks like I will have to build some. [Really odd. Could not get this to post at all, with several attempts. Went back to the main N scale forum page and reopened this thread, saw post was not there. Tried again, and the post below showed-up first try, and THIS ONE MAGICALLY APPEARED ABOVE IT. Is there some bug or am I doing something wrong in the new system?]
Ironic, modelling the railroad killing long-haul trucks. I wish somebody made Amish buggies in N scale. Looks like I am going to have to make my own.
I really like the Black Mack R sleeper cab. I've made several like that too. One of them even has lights that light up on the headlights, with a AAA battery in the trailer.
There seem to be a few kinks with different browsers and caching / cookies. But, unfortunately, very few reproducible items. If it happens again, please post the info in the Support forum, with the pertinent details you have on your browser/system set up. One question - do you have "off line browsing" enabled (this is a browser setting, not site)?
Rick, I do not see any setting that says "off-line browsing" to enable or disable it. But, since having a Norton tech mess with my browser settings, I have lost all "history" files and am not making new ones. So, the problem might be on my end. Steve
Depends on which side of the fence your loooking from. Did long haul trucking kill the railroads OR did Intermodal railroading kill long haul trucking ? The next time you see a long intermodal train...count the containers and/or trailers on it and think about how each one of those is one less long haul truck driver earning a living for his family. JMO YMMV
A co-worker's son finished his CDL "school" and before his graduation he had three companies offering jobs.
Way back in the day... When I was driving OTR and JB Hunt got into piggybacking as many trailers as they could on flatcars...the talks werent good at truckstops. Drivers sitting around eating and complaining how ol "Yellow Doors" was trying to kill the trucking industry. Like I say...it depends on which side of the fence you are looking at the problem from... Still lots of big rigs on the highways chasing intermodal trains...so I can still smile....
My CDL expired a million years ago. I have not been in a truck in almost 35 years now. Wife's younger brother is career OTR. So we get regular updates on the stupidity from DC, etc, etc.
Nice trucks. Got a long frame KW w900 in the works, and a KW bullnose COE in the paint shop. Next up will be
