Alright, I have found another one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/COLLECTION-...975369?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item19d5badbc9 Oh my, now I have two of the three here and I only paid 32 cents a piece for mine.
Thirty two cents is about right. Those all look to be the later ones anyway. I've seen guys think they have a gold mine and ask $50 each, but geez, $153 each is a real push. How do you like the 4-6-0 with the mangled handrails and missing stack? Or three out of 4 tender steps broken off? Thirty two cents sounds about right. Dave
What I didn't mention was that mine are complete with nothing broken and they work too. (I have the switcher in front and the big Pacific in the back.)
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Varney-SW7-...359652?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item4d0bbc1e24 Varney SW-7. No bids, BIN for $24.95 plus shipping. "Leans a bit", cab replaced with plastic, body bent down in the back, one shot looks like either heavy brush or the paint ate into the cab sides. I didn't pay that much for a complete and running one. As-is, parts, five bucks including shipping. Opinion. Dave
That SW looks like something a well intentioned youngster created. In the end, it is not much more than a parts source.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/VARNEY-HO-S...103156?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item232a558574 You have both, you can make a decent one. This one has the better trucks, but seems to be missing sideframes. Dave
http://www.ebay.com/itm/VARNEY-HO-S...031377?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item20d1560e51 Plastic, X2F's, and boy, that's an odd cattle car. Seven bucks for a post-LifeLike plastic car. Pick those up at shows for a buck..or free......' Dave
This one is road #3500: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BACHMANN-SANTA-FE-POWERED-GP40-LOCOMOTIVE-3500-HO-/190827446456?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item2c6e33c0b8 and this one road #3501 http://www.ebay.com/itm/BACHMANN-SA...443763?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item2c6e33b633 Note the white piece of paper glued to the side of the cab with "3501" taped over 3500. Incredible. But hey, it IS cheaper!
twenty five bucks for the pair, no bids.... It's Botchman, for cryingoutloud. The paper tag...patched? HA! Dave
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ATHEARN-HO-...el_RR_Trains&hash=item2a2c916fc4#ht_25wt_1259 I guess he figured the last round about a month ago that got out of control is reason to list these at his price point... Never mind that 6 of the same CSX Genesis cars ended last week with no bids and those were only listed at $40 each... I know these are hard to find, but really? Brian
For ONE HOPPER?????????? This is insanity. But you know if he finds someone to pay that much, have at it. A thought: that's a beautiful car, but I'd almost be afraid to handle it.
Here's another for a caboose, but the bidding is what is crazy. The seller started it at $5.00 and it has gone way up and out. What's the deal on these anyway (not like they are brass)? http://www.ebay.com/itm/12110710882...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_8163wt_1259 Brian
In what world is this stuff worth that much? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lot-10-HO-T...l_RR_Trains&hash=item460f702e02#ht_334wt_1091 Oh, and this too. http://www.ebay.com/itm/LARGE-LOT-O...l_RR_Trains&hash=item3a8161976b#ht_785wt_1141
http://www.ebay.com/itm/HO-Parts-AT...352698?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item19dd80423a It's a used HiF drive, no bands, no couplers.....heck, I wouldn't give fifteen bucks for a complete one. I spent five for a complete HiF RDC a while back.
Alright, so here is one of those "huge" lots, it is also lots of dollars for older Bachmann items (some of which are in bad shape) http://www.ebay.com/itm/Huge-MIXED-...l_RR_Trains&hash=item232bdfe2fd#ht_406wt_1091 Real comical... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lot-10-HO-T...l_RR_Trains&hash=item460f702e02#ht_335wt_1091
Goodness. The first link is stuff from the bad old Bachmann days. The second is just....what can I say? But look at his rating, he's sold thousands of items so he's figured something out. Would somebody pay that much??
