http://www.ebay.com/itm/LIONEL-TRAI...6-VERY-NICE-/201403957650?hash=item2ee49c8192 Somehow this does not look "very nice".
http://www.ebay.com/itm/LIONEL-TRAI...AINT-ISSUES-/400975964292?hash=item5d5c07a884 Yes. Paint issues. It appears to have endured a bit of a rough life.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/LIONEL-TRAI...X-CATALOGUE-/191591360288?hash=item2c9bbc2720 $300 for this set? Seems a bit high.
About $260 to much. Cheapest of the cheap. Fibre lever in the top of the boiler tells me an 1110 type motor block, clamshell, when they go, no saving them. Log dump car, the dumper is now "separate" from the car. Can't recall how hard it is to fix. I picked one up decades ago (for free) and made it into a wheel car. He doesn't show you the loose part except in the box in the first photo. Not worth the cost of shipping. Opinion. Dave
With all the hardware there, I'd have given him thirty bucks (delivered) for a repaint. It is worth thirty as a repaint candidate, but not if you include shipping. Opinion. Rough. Dave
Our good buddy in Fountain Hills, Arid-Zone-A. Without looking, the astro turf gives him away. 85 BIN, no option for bids....step missing is a deal breaker. Strip and repaint, then you have..a repaint. I've picked them up better years ago for thirty. 99% rust free. Gonna show us the rust? Opinion. Dave
http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-POS...ENGINE-ONLY-/201403704440?hash=item2ee498a478 ENGINE ONLY....worn out rollers, battery cover exhibits severe corrosion around the pivot, but no photos of the inside of the battery compartment to know for sure. Cover is scratched to heck..maybe a repaint (black) and couldn't get the rivet out so they scuffed the cover off. You decide. EXCEPT: it's ENGINE ONLY less SHELL! But it's from a rabid....err...avid Lionel collector. Opinion. Dave
http://www.ebay.com/itm/POST-WAR-O-...SENGER-CARS-/151770466047?hash=item23563986ff Interesting. Might be worth that in parts, but what did they do to the coach? Looks like they whacked the end to fit on an 18-wheeler tractor. Or some try at articulated coaches? Junk bin, save the truck. Opinion. Dave
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lionel-Sante-Fe-B-Unit-Postwar-/171885291340?hash=item280529674c Shell is shot. Bowed WAY up on top, and sides no longer follow the framework. Scratched and beat. Box is not much better. Opinion: $20 delivered, need to find a new shell. Dave
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lionel-Post...UNS-EX-MORE-/181827868942?hash=item2a55c9190e Decent price. Not any worse paint than the prototypes were (poke). Missing one lamp, the other ain't right (looks like a flashlight bulb jammed in the hole), missing fuel tank/battery cover, should be easy to find.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/LIONEL-POST...IS-W-TRUCKS-/131572957584?hash=item1ea25c0190 Eight bux and five to ship. Why? Rusted to snot, if you strip and re-paint you lose the factory stamping. Whistle unit is gone. Looks like one pickup roller and the drawbar is gone. Shell is cracked on both ends (one BIG). So, for your thirteen bux, what do you get? The privilege of placing it in the circular file yourself? Opinion....based upon observation. Dave
"....the condition of the engine, which appears clean,...." Looks like they tried to clean it up. That battery damage on the bottom says otherwise.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lionel-O-gu...otive-Lot-2-/221218230742?hash=item3381a251d6 A set of trashed 2343 Santa Fe F units, and maybe a spare shell, and a light tower. Looks like an A-B-A, not sure about that spare shell. By the time you BIN and ship, a grand thirty? Really? Holy Cast Your Hook Out There. Opinion. Dave
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lionel-trains-post-war-/321823274515?hash=item4aee297613 $989 BIN, but free shipping! Step right up! Can't tell on the F unit frames. Corrosion? Lighting? Resprayed over battery corrosion? Passenger cars nicked, dinged, letterboards and names faded out, some trucks corroded badly. Rust visible in what is shown. KW missing reverse/horn lever. Most of the freight car trucks showing excessive corrosion. Couplers corroded (and hairpin springs most likely toast). No under shots. For the lot, tops as is, $250, maybe $300. Opinion, again. Dave
https://lionel.com/Products/Finder/...ywords=&CategoryID=499&RailLineID=&CatalogId= New, five hundred MSRP. Remember that for a moment. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lionel-Trai...-Diesel-NIB-/291502773936?hash=item43deeb56b0 Nine Hundred. But only ten bucks to ship it. Dave.
