Of particular note in that lot, top left and top right, are the (in)famous Aurora switchers that are "loosely" based on the venerable Plymouth switcher, however adapted to run on 6 volts. Assuming that they run at all, they won't for long on a standard layout. This stuff was displaced as the scourge of eBay listings by the High Speed Invasion.

As for the opening bid, I respectfully submit that it needs a Decimal Point Adjustment. (Feel free to borrow that term.)

"Mite" as well go for the trifecta...

I'd bet having that spelling error will cost the seller a few views.

Yeah..but what did you pay for it?
I gave away three engines, and a stack of cars (in original boxes!) for free to one of the guys that runs here...for scenery.
Would you pay fifteen bucks to get that lot?
Just asking...maybe he's right asking fifteen delivered for stuff Reader's Digest gave away.

I wonder how many of those RD SP pieces are out there? They must have imported quite a large batch. :(

Probably being put back on the Bay by folks who bought them not knowing what they were getting, which in turn will be bought by more folks not knowing what they are getting who will then put those back on the Bay. The same plastic loco and cars will end up with more miles on them than the real 1 to 1s.

No, not my auction. And I got mine (the entire set) for free. When I started, a friend sent me the entire collection with the note "My Dad had gotten these, hope you can make use of them". I have -- wonderful airbrush and weathering tests, and the park display setup. You can see it, off to the right, in this photo

Notice in the original listing the seller states that he is retaining the master and reserves the right to make additional copies. So if anybody had any thought of exclusivity you can bet that at $503.00 there will be more copies on the 'Bay and soon.

What's missing from the description is clear mention of where copyright remains or is somehow transferred.

I saw the post yesterday about the "high dollar" auction for the slide, and clicked on the link to eBay to see what it was all about. Must not be all that rare, because eBay's computer saw me look at it, and now eBay repeatly posts on my Facebook page that I have another opportunity to own this special deal.

And time to install Ghostery, which blocks a lot of this cross-site nonsense.
