Looks like a nice spot to railfan! :) That backdrop blend at right really works well.

Tonight was a fun night as three of our recent projects came full circle. First, Rey completed the flatcar lowering and while the cars still need brake wheels, the car height is incredible. In this picture you can see the forward car is an out of the box, while the cars behind it (NP) are clearly lower.

Meanwhile, Bob put the finishing touches on the lumber mill bridges. After some trial and error last week, the first step this week was to curve the exposed edges. No need to catch sleeves or heaven forbid an eye on sharp corners. We accomplished that by tracing the curve we wanted on one of the acrylic pieces then clamping a piece of quarter inch plywood to both of the acrylic sheets. The plywood gave the assembly strength so that the jigsaw wouldn't tear apart the acrylic.

We then used the jigsaw to cut close to our line, following up with a belt sander to ease up to the line. We topped that off with a sanding block to put a nice smooth edge on the sheets. Here is how they look:

While that was going on Wain surprised us all with a finished golf scene:

The men teeing off from the blue tees while their female playing partner takes a practice swing.

And on the prior hole, tending the flag as your partner putts out.

His other surprise, a foamcore mock-up building adding realism to Ken's railfanning location.

Scott also completed the new walkway at Two Bridges, improving our clearance issue.

What a fantastic evening. Thanks for checking in.

When this empire is "done", I sure would like to see a video of an operating session. That should be fascinating!

We are going to go on a foamcore building kick and get structures on all the sidings. Then we'll set up an ops session. I'll be sure to video it.

Great Golf scenes!! I had to put some of those Plexiglas barriers around my outfit too. It is well worth doing it too.

Thanks Tom. I just saw pending danger if those bridge decks were left to hang out in space like that. M

And if I were there, with my luck it would have been me who walked past and caught a shirt sleeve on it, or.... :(

I keep looking for Ken in this shot, perhaps he's out mending his torn sleeve...

Here is a shot of Scott's handiwork along one of the tieback walls. Good color and the rock is a neat feature.

The retaining walls are a fantastic piece of work, too. They look so real and the rocks in front are a nice touch. Great work.

Who needs trains to look at when you have such good scenery to study? That retaining wall is mightily impressive!

Agreed! I would be looking at all the scenes... and then ask..."There were trains?" JMS
