Sorry, to butt in, but I've noticed that folks have become more sensitive in the last year. Don't know why, maybe the economy, politics, whatever. I posted a picture the other day on ZCS using some Photoshop experiments, and someone said, "Why did you ruin a perfectly good photo?" I simply laughed. I looked at this persons comment and decided to take the high road and laughed. I hoped he meant no harm and was trying to be funny! Anyway, I think if we all took a deep breath and figured that these comments are not meant to be hurtful then we would all be better off. M2CW. Cheers, Jim CCRR
Cool looking loco. All you guys that build one of these deserve credit because you wind up with a real gem when finished. I agree Jim more people are sensitive, but I think you get that the larger the groups become. More people mean more chances of someone reading into something is all. Most people are pretty good, and I like it that way.
Alex, Just go up three postings to CSX Shamoo and read back. But this comment was directed not to you specifically, but to Z scalers as a whole. I'm on this site quite often, and Zyahoogroup, and of course, I'm the moderator at Z Central Station. My comments are simply a stated observation of a trend I've noticed developing. Take Zyahoogroup for example, at least 2 and maybe 3 folks have been placed on 'moderation' or banned from the site in the last 3 months. While none of this has happened here or at ZCS, there does seem to be a 'touchiness' creeping into these Z sites as well. Hey, it is my job to notice these things. Trust me I do notice. The last thing we need is the act over on the Atlas Forum to take place in our scale. Cheers, Jim CCRR
Alex, Please. My comments were made to the community as a whole. As my 12 grade English teacher used to say, "There is a fine line between comedy and tragedy". I spoke up on my observation of a growing trend, in MY opinion. Not anyone specific incident. This not a big misunderstanding. No one, certainly not me, thinks you meant anything meanspirited. Again, no problem with you. Case closed. Cheers, Jim CCRR
Lajos, Right you are. I cleaned my track the other day and pulled 14 cars with my SW-1. I got some slipping on 220mm curves and more slipping on 195's. I took off 5 cars and the SW-1 pulled 9 cars around the layout which involved 10 feet of 2% grade. I don't remember anyone posting these kind of results before. Cheers, Jim CCRR
Actually Robert Ray did it. Warning, this video contains images that harmful to the self-esteem of potential AZL Challenger buyers. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idVC8ksJPtk"]YouTube - Zthek SW1 DCC[/ame] Lajos :0)
Hi Jim, that's quiet impressive having in mind only 2 driven axles w/o traction tires. I think the SW1 solid design wie quiet heavy gauge brass (thanks Lajos) is helping a lot. Just saw Rob's video, even more impressive!
Boy, that is impressive pulling power. I'll have to see what mine will pull when Gerd finishes with it. Thanks for a super model Lajos! John
