Mathew Nice job on that old Athearn kit. It is amazing how good a simple kit such as that can look when you add a few bit of wire and styrene.
Thats some excellent modeling Matthew, looks like a lot of modifications were done. I too like these older kits, you can do so much with them.
I still have several more part built as well, I guess I could do them in bulk... I found these old small photos of the original build, looks like I will need to be careful when I drill out the missing window not to knock out the blanked out one.
Nothing too complicated. Picked up a Trident Ford F-350. Was not pleased with the finish. Made Improvements. lol
DBTC Test-Bed I really enjoy looking at the items is this thread! It is amassing how realistic the models look. I have a lot of respect for people that can do these things! Thought you’ll might like to see one of the ugliest HO models in existence. Since my talents (?) are in different areas from most of the posters here, this is a test-bed-loco for open-source direct-bluetooth-train-control. It is being tested on a USB tether before having the bluetooth added. (The hardware is just pieced together parts for now.) The test-bed has motor-speed-control and distance-control. It can be commanded to go a specified scale-distance down to 1 foot. Changing “CV’s” in this unit is direct and simple (no loco-movement). They can also be simply upload/download as a group. This gets rid of two of the biggest problems I have had using DCC. Bob
The owner of this car requested that I build an other model of it reflecting the current paint scheme.
Yes, a group of us chartered this car and the sleeper that goes with it to ride from Kansas City to Los Angeles last July.
I am working on the ground cover in the coach yard of the San Antonio Model Railroad Association SP Sunset station on their H0 scale club layout. Photo of that with the wet glue. Here is an overall shot of the station. Bill Eubank, Doyle Bond, and Al Boos built the structures. As with many clubs, there is some repair and rebuilding of previous efforts as we try to upgrade and improve.
I purchased a Genesis GP15-1 recently and is rebuilding it into a fantasy SCL GP15T.Also acquired 4 of the new Rapido Budd coaches in SCL.Those are NICE!!!
No picture to show but I just installed my first Tsunami Sound Car decoder. It took about an hour and it was up and running. I did have to do a bit of programming with the sound scaler. But it came out like I wanted. Those add an interesting deminsion to the railroad. Especially the flat spot! Merry Christmas Guys!
I'd say about six feet. The entire station complex with the coach yard is about 15 feet. The whole city area there is about 25 feet. There is an operating catenary system in the street along the buildings in the back. It operates on both overhead and two-rail.
