water color staining Hydrocal rocks

The upper rock has a 'black wash' base (see next paragraph) but not evenly over the surface so you can see the shading effects. Then a mix of Raw and Brunt Umber, Raw Sienna and about half as much of Yellow Ochre to a quart of water. The upper right has little to no black wash so you see the earth blend color (too much yellow ochre for me) The middle is mostly the blend, the upper right more black wash and the bottom as additional blackwash over the earth blend.
