this aggravates me to no end and it always happens when im right in the middle of something technical too. i have to close doors and put sign up do not disturb EVEN IF THE HOUSE IS IS ON FIRE ,,,,,,GO AWAY hahaha
Sidney, I built the underside supports to where i can get at the track easy. I cleaned it all. So its run trains time.
Mike Fifer has been impressing me for a long time now. I don't have anyplace to put a outdoor building and a larger layout. That said, he added to his layout in his garage. He took it all down and rebuilt with a new model. The layout i have right now is #6 with a couple more additions. Mike is a good friend and has helped me many times. Another helper is HO Explorer, AKA 'Jim'. And there are many others who have helped me over the years. So many that have encouraged me on. This layout started out as a 34X60 layout. Now its a 40X108 layout. I think i have the right ideas as to what i wanted it to be. I like it so i think it is finally finished in the design. That also makes my wifey happier! Thanks everyone! I couldn't have got this far without all of you. Now the finish of the scenery and then the fine finish work. Right now, I am repairing the logging camp and repainting the buildings as well. They have been around since the first layout. That is 11 years now. Can't believe it has been that long.
Been busy today. I got a lot done on the layout. My main work is the logging camp. I think the main part is finished. I still have stumps and logs yet. But the main part of that camp is done. Some shots below.
Yep, i even ran a couple of trains around the layout too! Busy day for sure. I got to get the upper track clean and run a couple up to the logging camp.
I started to make the shrubs for the rock walls around the tunnel portals. As soon as they dry i can glue them down where i want them. I also finished the "box car" storage shed for the main engine shed I also repaired the sand tower so i can glue that back down. The next parts will be the finishing of the logging camp mountains. I haven't come up with names for the mountains. I have three of them but I don't want to use the names of the town of Spruce WV. Or the mountains around. Big Cut ,Whittaker and a few others. I based that area loosely, but don't want to use those names as there was several other towns like them. Come to think about it, I haven't named the town. I guess i should be thinking alone those lines as i build this model.
Maybe you should name the mountains or area first. Often towns took their names from the area. Or name the town after the settlers of the region.
I thought about calling it Greenbrier Because Cass is on the Greenbrier river. Another is Meadow Bluff. Mill Creek is another. All these are from West Virginia. I just don't know. Other names are Short Mt., Mt. Weather, Eagle Rock and Spruce Mt. Also Spruce Mt is up in the northern part of the state and not connected to the town of Spruce or Old Spruce. Just something to kick around. Laters
DeaconKC, Yeah, i really like those. More of the shrubs. I think i am getting better at making them. Shots below
