Welcome to the TrainBoard fellas! We would encourage you to share your photos with us, and tell us about your interests, layouts and projects. Be sure to look in on the Cattle Car Forum while you are here. We have a very special little lady that is a super source of information for all of us, and keeps us guys on our toes too! Lady Sunshine can find prototype photos, data, and funny things you would never think of, but we all need, so get acquainted with her, she is a real sweetheart!
Visit all the forums at least once, you will find a surprising amount of useful data. You can also post your photos in RailImages by clicking on the big red button at the top right of the page header. Your album there can be used anywhere too! Do be sure to read this forum's rules, so you don't get a ticket for going too fast, or get me in trouble for not having a seat belt that can fasten around my fat tummy! :D

I know of you (is Mike on TB?), John W, Keith, Darren and Grif (Geeky). That qualifies for a BBQ, don't you think? Agreeing on a date will be tricky, though, especially this time of year. Who all are interested? [IMG]

Easy - already done! :D :D I am going to have some left over that are not committed to those early birds who had expressed interest and they will be announced on railwire.

I can't believe Atlas pulled the plug without warning, and for that long. It's their forum and they have reasons, but wow, what a surprise....

I think he has just forgotten. Count me in! I live in Cheyenne, WY, but that's only an hour and 15 for me to get to the Mile-High city.

I'll make you a bet it is either NOT coming back at all - or coming back in a severely restricted fashion.

For one thing, you don't blow off an entire community you've spent time and $$$ building up without some very major reason. The "new software" excuse is ridiculous.

For another thing, with the UP thing and various recent concerns about people bashing competitor products, I suspect there is unease about the forum in general.

AOL has been dead lately. Mostly I have been on Trainboard, Atlas and the Yahoo boards. Working on some things to include a new concept [I think it is new anyway] in Ntrak modules. Hope to submit it to one of the NScale mags for publication.

Looks like i will call this home for the summer as well. I think it was kind of RUDE for atlas to cut us off like that. i has a question that i had posted the day beforeand was looking for some specific answers. when I got home from work and was looking for some responses from n scalers in the know....got the door slammed in my face. I'm wondering if the shutdown was a preemptive strike at what may have developed into a marketing effort by one of the forum members. One member had a number of Bowser H21 hoppers painted in his special road name and appearred ready to sell them. That would have been a big No No on the forum and maybe was the last straw.

I will miss the Atlas site. I hope they return. I think the shutdown was under 'mysterious' circumstances. But as long as they keep producing great N scale stuff, I'm happy.

I'll be lurking here for the summer, and maybe longer. Good to see some familiar names!

Well, I received an e-mail from Paul Graf Friday morning that was curious when re-read. I replied to it last night after the forum went down and I will be curious to see if I get a reply. Since I replied directly to the message, I may call him Monday, since he thoughtfully included his number and extension. I'll probably get voicemail, but it's worth a try.

The manner of the shutdown really was bad customer relations all around.

I just re-registered here after a four or five year absence, so guess I'll be here, on the Gamers board started at the last shutdown (gotta be there, I'm the moderator!) and Railwire. It's a shame we get split up, though.

I hope I wasn't the one Pete Nolan was referring to from the Atlas Forum! Especially since I'm using the PRR logo, too.

[/QB]</font>[/QUOTE]That's good Tox. Glad you're here too. Not that I'm paranoid or anything, but I didn't get an e-mail yet and thought maybe you didn't have a list of them. I'll just sit tight. :D You do remember I wanted 3, right? :D

I hope that O.C. engineer makes hismself at home here. I really enjoyed all the posts that he made at the Atlas forum.

  20. I don't think so. Paul has never had a problem telling posteres to stop doing something before, and in fact, no selling was going to be done on Atlas anyway.

The special release (of my road btw) had already been pre-announced months ago on Atlas (and orders taken at that time by email) and Paul expressed no issues at that time. The only thing that was going to be done now is fillign the orders and letting people know they had arrived.

Somehow I don't think Paul shut the forum down over a few VARR Hopper cars.

Oh, and Paul/Atlas et al, DO (in a way) permit selling on the forum from a number of other special run providers and online LHS's. Letting folks know of the special run through a thread, or letting folks know of your LHS (as Wig-Wag does in his signature, for example) have always been tolerated.
