Back at-cha spidge - nice bridgework. I checked out your Railimages album, you've got a cool layout and trackplan. And of course a great railroad
Spidge, I agree with Dave: it looks like your layout is one to watch. That bridge scene reminds me of Altamont Pass where the WP line crossed over the SP line at least twice in similar settings. Alas the SP line is no more and the WP line is now UP and commute trains... That is one handsome train on The Loop Dave! -Gary
Traindork, they look like SP except there is no grunge? Someone is upsetting the weathering gods.:tb-biggrin:
Yes, quite an impressive roster! But spidge is right, we can't upset the weathering gods, so here's an offering for repentance (a light helper set returning down the hill to Bena, just downhill from the loop):
Yeah, Carl Sowell gave me the skyline casing to put on the old CC Hudson Boiler. I changed the trailing truck on the Hudson mechanism to one off of a Trix Pacific. The tender is pretty much scratch built using some pieces off of a CC/Kato S2 Northern tender.
Speachless Wooowww! At first it looked like a CC GS-4 until I took a good look at the drivetrain. I figured it was a bash of an MP streamlined Pacific but the drivers looked different... like an NYC Hudson. It's a beautiful looking model Russ.
I think that's the first time I've seen the "half-Daylight" scheme on an actual layout. From this and the Sunbeam, I have to say, Vanderbilts look good in Daylight.
I finally have the Mars light installed in my Sunset Limited blunt end sleeper. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fG_Lyy9Opz4"]YouTube - MVI 2880[/ame]
I used a circuit board from Richmond Control driving a red LED. I scratch built the light package using an MV lens that I scraped the foil off the back to let the light through.
I did these for me SSW 9155 SD45 era 1986. I found this photo in the SPSF annual by Joseph Shine on page 101. I like the not so normal units. As far as I know this is the only Cotton Belt unit with stacked Lettering and SP on the nose. Next is a NWP MW 40' box done by Aztec. I decided to weather it up a little.
