I'd be interested to know what sort of light you used, too. I'd love to do something similar with my MT Bay Window.

I'm afraid I can't tell you the details.......:)
Seriously, I can't because all I did was send the caboose and $35 to David Mac Kinnon, Owner of Details-N-Scale, and he did it all, including the light and top mounting, Fox Valley wheels, all the wiring, and shipping. I met him at the convention in Portland, and he was displaying one. After seeing it, I had to have one!
Takes about 2 weeks for him to complete and send back......but, well worth it.
I am going to be getting the Athearn versions too, and he will be getting those as well. :)
One cool thing about the light is even after power is turned off, it continues to burn, then after awhile, slowly dims out.
If anyone is interested, his email is mackdet@msn.com.

I've got a soft spot for beet gons and SP bay windows...

The bay window is a rebuilt Model Power caboose, the beets are IM/Dimi cars.

I love beet trains. Jerry posted videos in the pass of his beet train and SP power. If you can find the videos they are worth watching.

Going back to some steam, how about a Consolidation with a clear view tender?

    Or maybe a Ten Wheeler.

Joe, what did you use for the lights for the SD9? Did you build the gryalight and emergency lights out of styrene? We SP modelers need to know!

Although I am a Mopac modeler, I did have an Espee moment back in 1984 while chasing 4449 north from Houston to Dallas.

The train was in Dallas over the Memorial Day weekend then went back to Houston and continued to New Orleans for the Worlds Fair. I took the pic more for the semaphores but having a Daylight between them was a bonus.
