Boy, it looks like railfanning is alive and well in New Mexico. Good to see the turnout of people there, and that tender looks great.
I checked the main webpage again, and it still says "the online store will re-open soon." Any chance you can convince them to do so? I want to contribute by buying some stuff.
I think the problem has to do with the transfer of money. I just do not get down to the site very often any more, the mid shift has me in "bondage", Grin. I'll shoot another e-mail to Marlin, and see what shakes out. Latest photos, http://www.nmslrhs.org/images/photos/5-26-12/index.html Regards, Kevin
Here are two more, The Mayors visit, http://www.nmslrhs.org/images/photos/Mayor_Berry_visit/index.html And the latest work, Of note, the Flex stay bolt work has started, and the roller bearings are on their way back from Timken. http://www.nmslrhs.org/images/photos/6-2-12/index.html Regards, Kevin
Kevin, thanks. Always enjoy the progress you are making. Is that Oregon's Yaquina Head lighthouse as wallpaper on Gail's computer?
It is possable, but I know less about Oregon, than I know about Quantum physics.... Grin. As a club we have some one from almost any where. As for my self, I have been building a V6 single acting steam engine. The project has been soaking up a lot of time. Regards, Kevin
It looks like a lot of work, but with 1280+ caps to recondition, it looks worse than it realy is Grin. Regards, Kevin
Lord, what an incredible amount of work and amazing progress! Wow! A 2900 class to be resurrected? Awesome! Bless you guys! Regards, Otto K.
Haven't heard much from Kevin lately, so I went to the 2926 site. Some bad news, there was a robbery in July and some critical parts of the locomotive were stolen. Some good news for those of you who live nearby Albuquerque, there is an OPEN HOUSE this coming Saturday, link to the flyer below. http://www.nmslrhs.org/pages/openhouse/OpenHouse2012.pdf
Sorry about the time away, this is my insane season.... I have been building an aviation steam engine model, and had to get it ready for the World SF convention in Chicago. and Lots of photos of the build on my photobucket page. http://s570.photobucket.com/albums/ss146/Thorgierr/ As for the 2926, The thefts were a pain, but none of the items are beyond our skill, work is underway to replace them. The open house was great we had 988 visitors, I think that it was a record event. Wow! What great progress! I'll bet she looked great for the open house. The way you guys have documented everything with photos, I sure hope you took photos of the stolen parts to the local scrap dealers. What a travesty after all the work you have all put in on this project. Millions of parts to attend to, and you are doing it!
Here is the latest set. The balloon truck in the second photo is my pilot, I have been crewing for him ten years. http://www.nmslrhs.org/images/photos/10-06-12/index.html Regards, Kevin
