No more frustrating than GN Empire Builder stripes. Just tedious, due to lining them all up. They go every which way on the nose, cab, pilots, tail end, etc... Thanks, guys! I wish it were mine, (Phil O might have something to say about that!) as it is a sharp, classy scheme. I'm tempted to do a fantasy unit, like an SD45 in this livery. More pics here: http://www.trainboard.com/grapevine/showthread.php?t=94028 Sorry to hijack the thread, Jerry!
Obviously you meant the evening sunlight not the morning...during the mid-to-late summer the sun sets so far to the north, over Mt. Tam, it's just beautiful across San Pablo Bay...too bad you couldn't get a nice shot from a little lower, with the locos back-lit and the bay and mountains in the background. Anyway, you should still submit the photo to Railpictures.net. Nice that you were able to make it out here from Alabama to do some railfanning. BTW, this thread has 1350+ replies!?! Amazing...
I've searched and searched but I can't find sound decoders that play Pink Floyd:tb-sad: excellent layout it's nice to see the progress you have made during my abscence. Shaun
I know it's been a long time since I posted to this thread, but heres the latest....however small. I have added more trees to the hill side over the SP Line at the far end, and some down by the tracks.
Looking the other way...'west'...you can see some of the new trees added to the outside of the SP Mains.
I still don't know whats going to go on the flat area. I am thinking maybe some storage tanks, since there are alot in this area. If you look to the right, you can see where I had to curve the bridge I built on the ATSF Main line. In test fitting track and benchwork, I had to start the curve sooner then I thought. This will go through the back drop, and come out into Franklin Canyon.
Other things I want to do is make the backdrops taller. I think that will help with photographing the layout.
Jerry, glad to see you working on your layout again! The new additions look great! Keep up the superb work Mike
Good to see you're back at it, Jerry. Watch your back when working on that flat area - maybe it's time for a "Topside Creeper"? Looking Great!
