    Flash:

That was composed as a cover shot for N Scale Magazine. But I gave it to Pamela as a preview shot a few months before, so that blew the cover possibilities. It was on the Table of Contents page the issue before my series began.

Never give your best pictures to an editor for a preview!:tb-confused::tb-confused: I've known that for years, but I was really trying to help Pamela get N Scale Magazine back on track in her early days, so I gave her the best image I had.

Since then, I've been amazed at the photography and articles in her magazine. Better stuff than I can produce!

Understand that I really don't like photographing my layout--it takes too much of my time and it's really hard work! I'd rather be out hunting bears in Alaska with my camera, or the hawks in my back yard. And my experiences with other model railroad magazines had been frustrating, to say the least. Some of the comments about my articles that I've heard attributed to Kirk Reddie make my blood boil.

So, when Andrew and Pamela expressed an interest in my layout, I went all out to get the best pictures I could, and try to help them re-establish the magazine. I think I helped in the early days. My images are good; others are truly professional.

Recent pictures and articles are just blowing me away! And inspiring me to get better in order to compete for space in the publication.

There's still the third deck to complete and photograph. Oh my, that's two big tasks. And so much more to do on the lower deck. Until I really retire, there's just too much else to do.

This definatly is not the fanciest area of the layout, or the most visually appealing, but it is a simple "secret" scene viewable by the operators and you guys only, and while it is in full veiw of the public eye, the public angle is different and drawn to another scene
    (the farm).

    Jason,

Your rock faces are some of the best I've seen - very convincing. Excellent work overall.

    Here's a small scene I particularly enjoy.

This small scene above was shot at the left center of this aeriel view below. The grey metal shed is soon to be replaced with a propane distributor, Mason Fuels.

I don't know if this the best location but down on the floor is where I spend a lot of my time looking for things i have dropped.

This is the same area as seen from above.

It's really the only part that has somewhat completed scenery. The waterfall is just a test piece that will get a perminent replacement soon.

More is coming along daily though.

    Rock carving

Excellent rock face! Very realistic/irregular. Is that hillside composed of 1/2 inch layers of foam?

    Favorite photo shot

Hard to settle on which one I like best...

    or this...

Different views of the same location, neither close being finished, but I kinda like them already.

    And then there's...

    This is N SCALE!
