Yeah certain mty's were 60 mph. Cauht a few out of Chicago like that. Nice ride to the Burg.

Charlie you were on the main line it sounds as the K line is flat from Burlington to FT Mad.KRS? as In Kevin the DS with a layout of the Ottumwa sub? We would ask if he was giving so many warrants as to use them on his HO layout. We were taught to set retainers on Burlington Hill if we ever had an emergency stop.Only way to do it safe as that 12 mph curve and 10 on the bridge would have been blown through with some of the monsters we had coming through ton. I was lucky and never had to set em up.

Rode with a guy up to chi and never had a problem, but all my friends and their engineers were warning me the next day. Found out why when bozo the wonder clown bout ran a switch in Cicero, forgot to untie the revenue move motors we had, then damn near hit the derail at Eola as we were backing in to get the pickup. Lil yardmaster was 8 months pregnant and at the walk. Thought I was going to have to deliver a baby that night!

Gotta go with maybe he was just a hot rodder and was slowing for something.Wont know I guess till we see a video.

The Germans couldn't stop the French from sabotaging their trains. The Germans were very efficient. If sabotage was successful they would kill everyone in the nearest town, usually with air strafing and bombing. Worked great!

My friend told me that his Dutch mother's friend went out late one night on the balcony to smoke. A German soldier shot her for breaking curfew.

    We'd have no chance.
