A private group beautified the underpass with an artistic rendition of the badlands of Makoshika Park here. And Fred would be right happy out there!
I had a good day yesterday, thanks to a friend with connections and so knowing when and where trains are made it easy! A 7 unit H train first, Followed in to the same track by a coal load,
Then, the same coal train left town after an empty rolled in on the mainline, a few hours later... There's a LOT of track talking going on with this load\,
Hats... I have a good collection of them, more of a Canuckian theme, and a few fun ones like "I need more toy trains", "Just Loco", and of course, the more than true "Old Railroaders never die, they just derail..." Judging by that one, I ran off the rails a long time ago...
Nice Stickers sighting! I haven't seen one in a many months, but my trackside time has diminished considerably, too.
Some weeks I get more time than others. Last week was slow. Next week? We will see. Traffic has dropped a bit since the bridge at Columbus washed out, so the primary traffic we see is coal and grain empties. A very few oil cans. And the mixed freight, but a lot less than before.
Yup! Have to climb two fences and park on the side of the Interstate, but it does provide a nice view of the trains!
This hopper is unusual, wish it wasn't vandalized, Another interesting one, The local power has been setting next to my Trainshed for 36 + hours,
Love that old Cascade Green! Oh, yeah!! Their turbos are louder than the prime movers themselves. When they move about, it almost sounds like a jet plane taxiing around. Cool!
